Our client is seeking an Associate to focus primarily on public market investing activities. The Associate will work closely with the senior members of the team to evaluate hedge funds and traditional equity and fixed income managers. The position will be based in the Bay Area, and is intended to be a two-year role, with the potential to stay on for a third year. Responsibilities:
- Performing detailed quantitative analysis the performance of various funds
- Conducting in-depth due diligence on investment managers
- Monitoring existing investments across various asset classes
- Drafting investment memoranda and financial analyses
- Conducting market research
Qualifications:
- One to three years of experience (investment banking, consulting, or investment management)
- Excellent academic credentials from a top-tier school
- Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills
- Highly ethical and trustworthy
- Self-starter capable of taking initiative, but who is also willing to receive guidance and direction
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the desire and ability to interact with general partners, clients and external parties
