Our client is looking for a Vice President to join their team in Dallas, TX. The Vice President is responsible for creating extraordinary outcomes as he/she assists with the implementation of the firm’s strategy by contributing to and collaborating with their diverse, talented, and well-aligned team of professionals. This position has a broad set of responsibilities and requires the individual to be a humble student and teacher. The position reports to Directors and Principals.

Key Responsibilities:
The Vice President will perform responsibilities similar to those typically performed by a vice president of a lower middle-market private equity firm, including:
- Assisting with sourcing and evaluating new investment opportunities
- Determining valuation and structure recommendations
- Managing and coordinating the diligence process
- Executing new investments, recap, or sale transactions in coordination with senior professionals
- Managing and coordinating attorneys, accountants, consultants, lenders, and other service providers
- Training, mentoring, and inspiring associates, analysts, and other team members
- Leading the creation of financial models, data analytics, investor presentations, and investment committee materials
- Monitoring portfolio companies and assisting management teams with strategic, financial, and operational initiatives
- Understanding and overseeing both the “in the weeds” details and level perspective
- Performing market research, attending industry events, and developing sound investment theses
- Assisting with other functions as requested, including the creation of tools/templates, marketing materials, press releases, other brand building activities, recruiting, and internal processes
Education, Experience and Skills:
The Vice President has/demonstrates:
- A bachelor’s degree and MBA with an outstanding academic record from highly respected institutions
- At least six years of relevant experience, including i-banking, principal investing, or other similar roles
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and modeling skills; ability to understand and consider a wide range of financial, operational, strategic, human, and ethical matters; naturally a systems thinker
- Ability to synthesize, aggregate, and parse high volumes of information that may be incomplete or irrelevant and recommend actions that are in accordance with the firm’s vision, strategy, and values
- Ability to thrive in an unstructured environment without rigidly defined procedures
- Ability to train other team members
- An authentic interest in business operations and working with management teams to improve them
- Excellent verbal and written skills with the ability to comfortably communicate with multiple personality types
- A consistent track record of being an extraordinary performer
- Relentless preparation and perseverance during adversity (e.g., athletics, military, etc.)
- Ties to the Southwest or a clearly demonstrated long-term interest in the region
- Exceptional business writing ability and a strong grasp of grammar and punctuation
- Expertise in accounting
- Proficiency with Tableau or other big data analytics software
- Experience creating high-impact visual documents (e.g. Slidedocs, PowerPoint presentations, etc.)
