Our private equity client is searching for a Pre-MBA Associate to join its investment team. The Associate will work directly with the firm’s three senior investment professionals as a key member of the team. The Associate will gain in-depth investment experience, significant responsibility, management team exposure, and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities: The Associate's responsibilities will include various aspects of deal execution and portfolio management including:
- Evaluating investment opportunities
- Conducting extensive company and industry due diligence
- Creating detailed financial models and analyzing valuations
- Reviewing acquisition documents, including purchase agreements and financing documents
- Interfacing with legal and accounting advisors, lending partners, and industry consultants
- Monitoring and evaluating performance of new and existing portfolio companies
- Communicating with portfolio company management as well as potential management
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will thrive in a small team, will be able to handle multiple roles and responsibilities, and will have the following characteristics:
- Two to five years of work experience with at least two years at a top tier investment bank, strategy consulting firm or private equity firm
- Undergraduate degree with a strong academic record
- Record of high achievement, superior maturity, and integrity
- Highly motivated self-starter with strong work ethic, analytical skills and attention to detail
- Strong and proven financial modeling and valuation expertise
- Professional written and oral communications skills
- Ability to effectively and thoughtfully interact with senior management teams, investment bankers and investors
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
- Ties to the Midwest strongly preferred
Education: Bachelor’s degree
