Our client is seeking a Principal to join their team. The Principal will be an integral part of the investment team in fund raising, sourcing, analyzing and monitoring fund, secondary and direct investment opportunities. A major focus of the role will be involved in the firm's capital raising activities. Responsibilities:
- Involvement in all aspects of the fund’s capital raising activities
- Managing the modeling, projection and valuation work relating to fund, secondary and direct investments
- Conducting market and company research
- Leading due diligence calls and meetings with company management teams, funds, and intermediaries
- Assisting in all aspects of the transaction, including deal selection, valuation analysis, negotiation and execution
- Assist in many facets of the capital raising process
- Management of the transaction documentation and presentation to the investment committee
- Performing investment monitoring analysis and use of internal databases
- Performing other projects as needed, including fundraising, marketing and compliance
Qualifications:
- Five to six years of post-MBA professional experience (asset management, placement agent, and / or other principal investing experience strongly preferred)
- PREVIOUS CAPITAL RAISING EXPERIENCE IS A MUST
- Top-tier undergraduate degree and MBA degrees are strongly preferred
- Interest in PE / VC investing, manager selection, and fundraising
- Strong analytical, modeling and writing skills
- Detail oriented, strong organizational skills
- Self-disciplined, demonstrates creative thinking, and an ability to manage the work flow of a small team
- A highly-motivated, self-starter with the ability to work both independently and within a team context
- Willingness to travel frequently
