Our client is currently seeking a Senior Analyst in its Asset Management department covering investment portfolios of non-agency MBS, other structured products and mortgage loans.

Essential Functions

  • Maintain cashflow projection models for investment portfolios of U.S. residential credit assets including RMBS and mortgage loans
  • Perform discounted cashflow analyses under different credit scenarios, financing structures and other assumptions
  • Monitor portfolio positions by maintaining data on purchases, sales and actual vs projected cashflows
  • Present analyses and proposals to senior management
  • Coordinate with the trading desk including support for BWICs and other trading activities
  • Understand the investment thesis for each portfolio and play an integral role in the management and performance of the portfolios
  • Calculate valuations for portfolio hedge positions
  • Monitor the market and industry trends
  • Execute various ad-hoc analysis as requested by senior management

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong Excel and Power Point skills a must

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from a leading university 

  • 2 years at a large technology-driven corporation, ideally within an innovation, business development or 
corporate venture capital role 

  • 2 years at a venture-backed startup that sells into or partners with large corporations, ideally within a 
product, product marketing, growth, or business development role 

  • Strong understanding of the venture capital, startup and corporate innovation ecosystems 

  • Experience advising VC-backed companies on tough growth and operational challenges 

  • Ability to meet tight deadlines, be responsive, manage varied tasks and work within a team 

  • Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in written form

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering or related field

Education:

  • 2-4 years of experience at a financial institution; ideally in the mortgage or structured products sector

Other Skills:

  • Proficiency in Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint (Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Strong Excel skills required; knowledge of macros a plus
  • Detailed knowledge of Intex required
  • Understanding of Bloomberg, 1010 data and LP database a plus

Work Environment:

  • This job operates in a professional office environment
  • This position generally requires long hours – 50 hours per week
