Our client is seeking an Analyst for its team in the New York City area. 
The Analyst will work as a member of the team to assist in the management of existing film portfolio investments. The Analyst will be primarily responsible for asset management-related tasks, including building and maintaining financial, historical and projection models and maintaining detailed internal reporting templates and credit files.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist in managing existing film portfolio investments, with a strong emphasis on advanced excel modeling and ad hoc data analyses
  • Populate financial models with detailed historical statements and projections on a real-time basis
  • Create and maintain reporting materials (including. investment update memos and exhibits); provide detailed investment updates to portfolio manager on a real-time basis
  • Conduct investment returns and valuation analyses
  • Maintain up-to-date and seamless file structure with relevant documentation

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Advanced understanding of financial statements and accounting (prior film accounting experience preferred)
  • Advanced ability in Excel modeling; ability to perform ad hoc excel-based analyses
  • Organized, thoughtful and immensely detail-oriented
  • Exceptional academic achievement
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with colleagues and clients
  • Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, flat organizational structure

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics or related business field preferred
  • Other Bachelor’s degrees combined with prior film experience also a plus

Experience:

  • 1-3 years of experience in corporate finance, fixed income or leveraged finance at an investment bank, hedge fund, or private equity firm required
  • Prior experience in film financing preferred
  • Prior experience in valuation analysis, credit analysis and equity/credit legal documentation a strong plus

Other Skills:

  • Proficiency in Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint (Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Strong Excel skills required with knowledge of advanced Excel formulas

Work Environment:

  • This job operates in a professional office environment
  • Generally requires long work hours – 50 hours per week

  • Position does not require frequent travel
