Our client is looking for a Director, Corporate Development to join their team in Colorado. Our client is constantly evaluating new opportunities covering the broad spectrum of communications and related services. Corporate Development is responsible for these efforts, including the identification, evaluation, structuring, negotiation and closing of transactions. The Director will play a critical role on deal teams working on a variety of projects across all stages of the transaction process. He or she will work closely with team members within Corporate Development and across various disciplines to create strategic and financial analyses to evaluate potential transactions. Location: Colorado (Rocky Mountain)
Essential Functions:
- Evaluates strategic and financial impact of various forms of transactions including acquisitions, divestitures and strategic investments.
- Responsible for developing work plans on all deals with minimal guidance and play an active role in executing on those plans. Takes lead responsibility where appropriate.
- Develops executive level presentations and presents parts of recommendations and analysis to senior executives, diligence team members and external parties.
- Develops increasing proficiency in our client’s business and strategy and begins to identify opportunities to help the company pursue its strategic goals.
- Provides some level of thought leadership on specific projects and broader strategic questions.
- Manages and / or coaches junior project team members in the Corporate Development team.
- Leads cross-functional due diligence teams.
- Coordinates with client team members and external financial and legal advisors to support the negotiation of offer letters, confidentiality agreements, definitive agreements and closing of transactions.
Preferred Education, Skills and Experience:
- Experience: 5 years
- Education Level: Bachelor's Degree; MBA preferred
- Field Of Study: Business, Finance, or related
- A combination of education and experience is acceptable
- Attention to detail with good organizational capabilities
- Ability to prioritize with good time management skills.
Knowledge, Skills or Abilities:
Top tier investment banking, private equity, corporate development, and corporate finance experience must comprise the majority of the candidate’s experience. Highest attention to detail with good organizational skills and ability to manage large, multi-disciplinary teams. Ability to prioritize workload with good time management skills. The Director will face significant challenges and develop invaluable skills and experience. The role will need to understand our client’s business and strategy, and have senior level analytical skills and business judgment. The Director will be expected to quickly and effectively analyze issues and communicate solutions in a dynamic and high-pressure environment. Demonstrated valuation and advanced financial modeling abilities. Expert-level proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Prior work experience in the telecom and technology sectors strongly preferred.
