Our client is searching for a pre or post-MBA Associate to join its team. The Associate is a member of the Portfolio Management Team and will work broadly across the firm’s platforms to develop strategy, make recommendations with respect to asset management initiatives, and communicate key updates to senior management. The Associate will work closely with various portfolio management teams across the firm’s opportunity and commercial real estate funds to prepare key communications and recommendations to the Head of Portfolio Management, Americas.

Location:  Dallas, TX

Start Date: Immediate

POSITION / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with portfolio managers from multiple Opportunity Fund and Real Estate Fund asset management and investment teams to develop fund-level strategy
  • Work with the Director to prepare key on-going fund-level updates, communications, and recommendations for the Head of Portfolio Management and fund senior management
  • Develop analysis and recommendations to support key asset monetization and financing decisions
  • Assist portfolio managers in the development of annual and quarterly business plan forecasting for the fund’s investments
  • Analyze monthly performance of investments to identify trends, risks, liquidity issues, and potential for monetization
  • Verify that investment performance and asset management initiatives are in-line with projections
  • Liaise with the Chief Operating Officer to ensure proper liquidity and capital planning for fund-level asset management initiatives
  • Provide support to various asset management initiatives, including the development and maintenance of reporting tools used by senior management
  • Execute ad hoc financial and reporting projects
  • Monitor industry news and leverage existing information to proactively inform leadership of relevant market trends

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to synthesize detailed information from multiple data sources into a concise, well-organized format that identifies key risks, opportunities, and investment targets for senior-level fund management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to quickly learn new businesses and identify key performance drivers
  • Keen understanding of risk, capital, and leverage
  • Strong financial modeling and quantitative skills required
  • Extensive experience with financial statement analysis, valuation and cash flow forecasting
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills including the ability to identify key stakeholders and ensure they are in the appropriate communications loop
  • Ability to work autonomously and as a member of a team
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment; ability to multi-task is a must
  • Ability to think strategically and to creatively solve problems and anticipate issues before they arise
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work and manage time

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance or related field

Experience

  • 4 years of experience in investment banking, private equity or other finance related field 
  • Experience in Financial Institutions or Real Estate a plus

Computer Skills

  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required

Compensation / Benefit Package:

Salary:  commensurate with experience

Bonus:  discretionary annual bonus

Vacation/Sick:  19 days per year on PTO plan
