Position Summary

Our client is seeking a Business Development professional to manage its outbound sourcing activities, maintain sourcing database in salesforce, attend industry conferences, develop marketing collateral and other items (e.g., coordinating white papers, social media, website). Using a data and metrics driven approach, this person will proactively identify and engage intermediaries (investment banks, brokers, accountants, lawyers, etc.) and industry executives that may bring investment opportunities to the fund. Working closely with the investment team, the Business Development professional will play an integral role in the sourcing success of the fund. The right candidate will:

  •  Believe in the power of data and technology to create insights and inform business decisions

Position Responsibilities

  • Deal Sourcing Strategy
    • Oversee and refine the firm’s overall deal sourcing strategy to optimize volume and quantity of deal flow
  • Deal Sourcing / Relationship Management
    • Travel to visit with existing intermediaries with deal professionals
    • Seek out and make contact with new intermediaries
    • Attend ACG conferences
    • Assisting in coordinating of deal team marketing activities
    • Planning / Mapping conference attendance to ensure total coverage and regular touchpoints
  • Data Management
    • Instituting Salesforce best practices for contacts and tracking deal flow
    • Quarterly reporting of analytics on deal sourcing activities
  • Strategic Marketing Coordinator

Preferred Background of Candidates

Between 5 – 15 years of relevant industry experience at a private equity firm, investment bank or asset manager

  • An in-depth understanding of private equity
  • Ability to utilize Salesforce as a tool to track and analyze data 
  • Candidate must possess excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Candidate must be willing to travel
