New Position Available: Associate, Asset Management in Dallas

The Associate position primarily focuses on the management and monetization of one or more assets and/or operating companies as well as providing support to the teams responsible for private equity and alternative asset investment origination. The Associate assists with the development and execution of strategic business plans and initiatives, as well as supporting the Vice Presidents and Directors with analytics and due diligence in evaluating new investment opportunities.  If you are interested, please apply to job #187 on our career website.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide support to asset management initiatives of existing investments including but not limited to financial analysis, developing and executing business plans and other ad hoc strategic projects
  • Collaborate directly with management teams to drive initiatives and deliver against business objectives
  • Manage investment capital requirements and debt covenant compliance
  • Analyze impact of various operational scenarios on portfolio company capital structures
  • Understand key industry trends and investment implications
  • Research and analyze target industries and proactively identify new investment opportunities
  • Perform all aspects of due diligence and underwriting
  • Structure / build detailed financial models to support both investment decisions and asset 
management activities. These modeling activities include creating financial statements, complex ROI 
and IRR calculations
  • Assist in pricing, negotiation and documentation of M&A and financing related transactions
  • Manage various constituencies (lawyers, bankers, consultants, etc.) during due diligence and 
transaction execution
  • Assist in investor reporting

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong financial modeling and quantitative skills (strong Excel a must)
  • Ability to independently author presentations in Word and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of financial statements, valuations and cash flows
  • Excellent project management and problem solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in 
writing with all levels of management
  • Ability to work with detailed financial or other data and to understand and vocalize concerns and macro implications
  • Ability to work autonomously and as a member of a team; team player with a positive attitude
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment with low to moderate supervision
  • Strong business judgment and decision making
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment
  • Self-starter with the ability to multi-task
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work and manage time
  • A self-teacher and quick learner able to pick up the technical skills necessary for any project

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics or related business field
  • MBA preferred, but not required

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of progressive work experience
  • Experience in a fast-paced management consulting firm or turnaround consulting firm
  • Will also consider select candidates with 3-5 years of industry experience followed by a MBA
  • Transaction/acquisition experience preferred, but not required 


Computer Skills:

  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint (Microsoft Office Suite 2003/2007)
  • Efficiency in Excel, including ability to summarize data via formulas, lookups, Pivot Tables, conditional 
formatting, etc.
