The Vice President is a member of the Portfolio Management Team dedicated to managing investments in Residential Whole Loans (WL). The Vice President will work closely with other investment professionals to analyze, develop and execute asset management strategies that will enhance investment returns. Responsibilities include credit research, asset cash flow forecasting and monthly asset surveillance to ensure the optimal execution of investments and to communicate investment performance to senior management. If you are interested in applying, please visit job #193 on our careers website.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and maintain complex financial models used for forecasting asset cash flows and supporting strategic planning and monetization decisions
  • Analyze monthly cash flows and reporting to assess collateral trends, portfolio risk, cash performance and portfolio execution 
  • Formulate, support and update the credit view/methodology used for forecasting asset cash flows
  • Verify investment performance and asset management initiatives are in-line with projections
  • Strategize ways to accrete value to pools of primarily non-performing whole loans such as re-performing borrowers through modifications
  • Evaluation of the economic impact of trading pools of re-performing whole loans
  • Work closely with the Structured Finance Team to create the most beneficial securitization structures for whole loan investments
  • Execute ad hoc financial projects
  • Provide support to various asset management initiatives, including the development and maintenance of reporting tools used by senior management
  • Monitor industry news and leverage existing information to proactively inform leadership about market trends, operations analysis and overall business levels

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong financial modeling and qualitative skills required
  • Ability to work with detailed financials and other data and to understand and communicate macro implications
  • Knowledge of financial statements, valuations and cash flows
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills including the ability to identify key stakeholders and ensure they are in the appropriate communications loop
  • Ability to work autonomously and as a member of a team
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment
  • Ability to think strategically and to creatively solve problems and anticipate issues before they arise
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work and manage time

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance or related field
  • MBA a plus

Experience:

  • 5 years of experience in investment banking, private equity or other finance related field
  • Residential Whole Loans and Mortgage Servicing Rights experience a plus

Computer Skills:

  • Proficiency and efficiency in Excel and PowerPoint a must
  • Advanced SQL, Collateral Analysis System (CAS), and VBA skills a must
