The Analyst will be a member of the Asset Management Team dedicated to managing investments in the financial services space, including the existing investments in residential whole loans. The Analyst will work closely with other investment professionals to analyze, develop and execute asset management strategies that will enhance investment returns and optimize the capital structure and the cost of capital for existing and new investments.  If you are interested in applying, please visit job #190 on our careers website.

Reports to Vice President, Asset Management  

Essential Functions:

  • Build and maintain detailed financial models to support investment decisions and asset management activities. These modeling activities include creating complex financial statements, capital structures, and valuation models
  • Provide support to various asset management initiatives, including the development and maintenance of reporting tools used by senior management
  • Strategize ways to accrete value to pools of primarily non-performing whole loans such as re- performing borrowers through modifications
  • Evaluation of the economic impact of trading pools of re-performing whole loans
  • Work closely with the Structured Finance Team to create the most beneficial securitization structures for whole loan investments
  • Prepare presentation materials for senior management regarding new and existing investments
  • Assist with ad hoc strategic projects

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong analytic and financial modeling skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work and manage time
  • Understanding of financial statements
  • A self-teacher and quick learner able to pick up the technical skills necessary for any project
  • Hard working, detail-oriented and committed to producing great end results
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment 
Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance or related field

Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity or other finance-related field
  • Residential mortgage experience a plus
  • Investment banking/FIG experience a plus

Computer Skills:

  • Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook Proficiency
  • Efficiency in Excel is a must, including ability to summarize data via formulas, lookups, Pivot Tables, conditional formatting, etc.
  • Experience with SQL, CAS and VBA a plus
