Our Client
Our international client is a global leader in delivering innovative investment management, asset and fund administration, and fiduciary and banking solutions to corporations, institutions and affluent individuals. Over their long history, they have evolved with the changing needs of their clients.  The client is raising a new fund to invest in the Real Assets space, which includes oil & gas, agriculture, timber, and water.   Our assignment is to seek out an investment professional to be the Vice President and Subject Matter Expert ("SME") for the new Fund.

The Position
The investment professional will be responsible for overseeing the build-out of an illiquid natural resources investment fund-of-funds. The position will work closely with the Private Equity investment team on the sourcing, due diligence, closing, and monitoring of fund investments in the natural resources space.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be someone with experience in an endowment, fund of funds, or fund of hedge funds and will be private equity-minded, engaging with clients, and well-networked in the real assets space.  He or she will also be a cultural fit for a collegial Midwest firm. 

Qualifications

  • 5- 10 years working in the private equity natural resources fund industry

  • Strong educational credentials preferred. MBA and/or CFA highly desired

  • Demonstrated ability to assess, select, and access quality natural resource funds across a wide range of sectors that has led to strong investment performance.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and solid team player.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and orally.

  • Strategic thinker with strong leadership skills

  • Ability to work effectively within a collegial, team environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to improve the level of analysis and communication on an investment team.

  • Detail-oriented and disciplined in approach

  • Ability to multi-task effectively within a large organization

  • High level of integrity and character that is likeable, and strives to share with the team in the successes of the group

  • Strong business judgment, ability to assess both the qualitative and quantitative aspects of an investment.
