Established Finance Firm seeking an Associate or Vice President in their New York office to work with senior members of the firm, with a primary focus on Secondary Advisory, in the pursuit of strategically managing the sale of limited partnership interests within existing funds. If you are interested in learning more or applying, please visit job #299 on our careers website, or contact Steve Flynn at sflynn@phxgrpintl.com

Responsibilities include but not limited to the following: 

Overview/Objectives 

  • Execution support for placement offerings and other GP advisory services for clients across a number of sectors 
  • Diligence, launch and manage the fundraising process of secondary transactions, across a multitude of sectors 
  • High level maintenance of client and investor relationships
  • Facilitate and secure new business opportunities/mandates
  • Work closely with internal and client senior management on a variety of transactions 

General Responsibilities 

  • Oversee/mentor junior team members
  • Lead in execution of secondary fundraise assignments
  • Work with internal teams/departments to support sourcing of potential 
  • Investors for mandates
  • Review/Prepare asset valuations, financial models
  • Prepare GP marketing documents – including PPM, executive summary, pitch book, fact sheet, competitive matrix, email summaries, cover letters, etc.
  • Produce DDQs and other key support materials (org. charts, corp. structure, tax structure, etc.)
  • Review weekly management reports
  • Participate in the implementation of best practices – meeting notes, review binders, reference calls, deal flow tab, DDQs, transaction timeline, etc.
  • Provide research and various analyses in support of new business generation
  • Tailor presentations to GPs to win business, highlighting thoughts, insights, and custom marketing plan
  • Monitor competitive position of key prospects – analyze comp assignments, terms and fees by sector, investments made, etc.
  • End-to-end process management 

Qualifications 

  • The candidate should have a strong degree from a top tier university 
  • FINRA Securities Registered Representative exams (Series 7, Series 63) preferred (or the ability to quickly obtain) 
  • 2 to 5+ years of prior experience in a Secondary Advisory capacity 

Skills/Knowledge 

  • Highly organized, articulate and possess exceptional analytical, sales and marketing instincts 
  • Seasoned professional with proven track record/rolodex of client and investor relationships 
  • Superior intellect, demonstrated leadership ability, attention to detail, effective team play, and a commitment to excellence 
  • The candidate should have a strong desire to work in an entrepreneurial, partnership environment
