Our client is seeking an Associate to join their team in Dallas, TX. Location:  Dallas, TX

Report to:  Director

Department:  Opportunity Fund - Asset Management

Essential Functions:

  • Drive timely communication and reporting between the operating company team and Fund leadership
  • Structure/build detailed financial models to support reporting requirements
  • Analyze impact of various operational scenarios on portfolio company capital structures; provide potential advice and solutions to mitigate risk
  • Oversee and advise on capital expenditure decisions across the portfolio
  • Manage investment capital requirements and process all funding requests
  • Drive the quarterly portfolio company valuation process
  • Provide support in new financings, including review of commitment papers, credit agreements and bond indentures
  • Evaluate current banking relationships and ensure return on fees awarded and credit outstanding
  • Monitor portfolio company debt levels and recommend investments when sensible
  • Ensure visibility into debt covenant compliance across portfolio
  • Provide support to asset management initiatives of existing investments including but not limited to financial analysis, developing business plans and other ad hoc strategic projects
  • Author presentation materials and supporting documentation
  • Understand key industry trends and investment implications
  • Assist in investor reporting

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong financial modeling and quantitative skills
  • Knowledge of financial statements, valuations and cash flows
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing with all levels of management
  • Ability to work with detailed financial or other data and to understand and vocalize concerns and macro implications
  • Ability to work autonomously and as a member of a team; team player with a positive attitude

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics or related business field required
  • MBA preferred

Experience:

  • 4 years of work experience required
  • Leveraged finance background preferred

Computer Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) required
  • Expert Excel skills required

Compensation / Benefits Package:

Salary:  commensurate with experience

Bonus:  discretionary annual bonus

Vacation/Sick:  19 days per year on PTO plan
