Our client is seeking an Associate to join their team in Dallas, TX. The Associate will be a member of the team primarily focused on the management and monetization of one or more assets and/or operating companies. The Associate will support the Director of the Capital Team with capital analysis and management. Department: Opportunity Fund - Asset Management
Essential Functions:
- Drive timely communication and reporting between the operating company team and Fund leadership
- Structure/build detailed financial models to support reporting requirements
- Analyze impact of various operational scenarios on portfolio company capital structures; provide potential advice and solutions to mitigate risk
- Oversee and advise on capital expenditure decisions across the portfolio
- Manage investment capital requirements and process all funding requests
- Drive the quarterly portfolio company valuation process
- Provide support in new financings, including review of commitment papers, credit agreements and bond indentures
- Evaluate current banking relationships and ensure return on fees awarded and credit outstanding
- Monitor portfolio company debt levels and recommend investments when sensible
- Ensure visibility into debt covenant compliance across portfolio
- Provide support to asset management initiatives of existing investments including but not limited to financial analysis, developing business plans and other ad hoc strategic projects
- Author presentation materials and supporting documentation
- Understand key industry trends and investment implications
- Assist in investor reporting
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong financial modeling and quantitative skills
- Knowledge of financial statements, valuations and cash flows
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing with all levels of management
- Ability to work with detailed financial or other data and to understand and vocalize concerns and macro implications
- Ability to work autonomously and as a member of a team; team player with a positive attitude

Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics or related business field required
- MBA preferred
Experience:
- 4 years of work experience required
- Leveraged finance background preferred
Computer Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) required
- Expert Excel skills required

Compensation / Benefits Package:
Salary: commensurate with experience
Bonus: discretionary annual bonus
Vacation/Sick: 19 days per year on PTO plan
